Precipitous Bluff in Tasmania's South West National Park. Home to some of my very favourite hikes. This photo was taken while I stood in the knee deep waters of New River Lagoon. I had climbed over from the other side of Precipitous Bluff the previous day and camped next to the lagoon. But to get to the coast and the South Coast Track I had to walk in the water for an hour or two. There is no track and I would still be there if I had tried to walk back through the scrub. But I was lucky. It was a cool day but sunny and still. I have heard stories about what the trip is like when the tide is high, the weather bad and the wind picks up big waves. Would you like to see some more of Tasmania's Southern Ranges and South Coast Track?
